INTRODUCTION TO
THE WAIEA REPAIR PROJECT
Waiea was one of the first luxury high-rise condominiums developed by the Howard Hughes Corporation at the Ward Village in Kaka’ako. Shortly after completion, various construction defects were reported. A thorough investigation has been conducted and numerous defects have been identified, and repairs for each defect have been designed. Repairs began in March 2021 and are expected to last into mid-2023.
The Designer, Construction Manager, and Contractor all work directly for the Association of Unit Owners of 1118 Ala Moana. The Ward Management Development Company, LLC (a Howard Hughes Corporation entity) is funding the reconstruction
